BYF Discipline Policy
Up
At BYF our goal is to bring children to faith in Jesus Christ.  We want your child to have an enjoyable time at BYF while learning about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  In order for this to happen our rules must be followed.  If the rules are not respected in opening music, the classroom, recreation, the store or hallway we have implemented a plan of action which is listed below.  The rules are as follows:           no running(except at game time); follow the teacher's instructions; wait to be called on before speaking; show respect for your teachers and others.
  • 1st Offense - The child will be taken to the office and spend the remainder of the evening there.  Parents will be notified.

  • 2nd Offense - The child will be taken to the office and the parents will be called.  At that time a meeting with the child, parent and teacher will take place.

  • 3rd Offense - The child will be taken to the office and the parents will be called to come and pick up their child.  The child may be removed from BYF for the remainder of the semester.

Griefshare is a nondenominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics.  Each griefshare session includes a video and group discussion.  A griefshare workbook assists you with note-taking and grief study.  The videos feature interviews with leading authors, counselors, speakers and pastors with years of expertise in grief recovery. The sessions are held in the Library of the first Baptist church in Harlan.  Even though the sessions are held at the Baptist church, the church or any of it's members did not write the material.  Griefshare is a network of thousands of grief recovery support groups meeting around the world.  You can go to www.griefshare.org for more information.

The next griefshare session will start on

Monday September 13

Time is from 5:00 to 6:30.

Each session is 13 weeks and will feature a video with personal stories of people like you who are grieving.  After the video you will become part of a small group to discuss what you've seen on the video. You do not have to share if you do not want to and we try to maintain confidentiality in all situations.
